Gay Web Sites Under DDos Attack By Hackers

Gay web and news sites are being distributed by denial of service attack on eve of International Day Against Homophobia and Transphobia
LGBT social network Gays.com experiences DDoS attack before launch of video for International Day Against Homophobia and Transphobia. The Washington Blad has also been under attack as well as other sites.
The social network Gays.com today announced that it experienced a massive distributed denial of service (DDoS) attack that began at approximately 7.10am Hong Kong Time on May 15, 2009, causing the entire website to be inaccessible.
A distributed denial of service attack occurs when a multitude of systems attempt to flood the bandwidth or resources of a targeted system with illegitimate website requests. The flood of traffic by these requests cause the Internet bandwidth of the attacked site to be consumed to such an extent that the website is inaccessible to other legitimate users.
We have received at least one report that one gay twibe has also been experiencing a DDos attack and is not accessible.
